One of Roanoke’s favorite traditions is getting a fresh new take! Formerly known as Roanoke Roundup, this beloved community event returns as Taste & Tunes on Oak Street on Saturday, May 2, from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm in Downtown Roanoke. Best of all, admission is free!
While the name may be new, the spirit of the event remains the same, bringing our community together for a day filled with incredible food, live music, and unforgettable experiences. Taste & Tunes on Oak Street continues the tradition of giving back through community partnerships, proudly supporting programs and initiatives led by the Guns & Hoses Foundation of North Texas and Speedway Children’s Charities that help strengthen the community we call home.
Get ready for the mouthwatering excitement of the BBQ Pitmaster Tasting Competition and Steak Cook-Off, where talented pitmasters fire up their grills and compete for top honors while filling Oak Street with the irresistible aroma of smoky, sizzling goodness. Local restaurants and food trucks will also be serving up a variety of delicious eats sure to satisfy every craving.
The excitement builds with a live Voice Competition, presented in partnership with STAND Performing Arts and KETOS Entertainment, where talented performers will take the stage and compete to impress the crowd. Music will fill Oak Street throughout the day with live performances on the main stage and acoustic entertainment throughout downtown, creating the perfect soundtrack for an afternoon of food and fun. From country favorites to crowd-pleasing hits, the music will keep the energy going all day long.
