The seasons are changing and we have plenty of exciting changes happening in our beautiful city. You will notice updates happening throughout the city as our new fiscal year has begun. We will continue to update you on the status of the projects on our social media pages, website, and through this monthly newsletter.

I was proud to welcome the NASCAR 75th anniversary sign to our City Hall Plaza in the week leading up to the races on September 22nd-24th. We are honored to have such a wonderful partnership with the Texas Motor Speedway and always look forward to welcoming thousands of visitors to the Roanoke area on race weekends.

Our Roanoke Police and Fire Departments partnered with 14 neighborhood hosts for the annual National Night Out Against crime. Thank you to all who hosted a block party. The annual Fire Department Open House event was hosted on October 7th. My family and I enjoyed the event and had a great time learning more about all of the programs and opportunities offered through our Roanoke Fire Department.

The Police Department has delivered donation boxes to City facilities in an effort to collect donations for Denton County Friends of the Family. Visit the Roanoke Recreation Center, Community and Senior Center, Library, Museum, or City Hall to donate your items. Learn more about the programs and intiatives by visiting the Police Department Facebook page.

Be sure to join us for the 26th Annual Celebrate Roanoke street festival this October 14th from Noon-9:00 PM. The event includes a rodeo, drone light show, music with Jack Ingram, and much more! Visit the website to learn more and plan your fun.

Our website is full of important updates and tips to maintain safety during these hot Texas summer months. Please visit the website, or call any of our talented departments, for assistance. You can also follow our social media pages for up to date information. Links to those pages are: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin, NextDoor. I hope to see you soon enjoying Roanoke's beautiful amenities.
