Mission
The Roanoke Fire Department is dedicated to protecting life, property, and community resources through prevention, preparation, response, and mitigation.
Vision
The Roanoke Fire Department is committed to providing trained and knowledgeable personnel prepared to respond to our growing community's needs. We strive to continually improve our organization through the use of innovation, allowing us to provide the highest level of service possible to those in need.
Fire Department Overview
The Roanoke Fire Department is a full-service combination of paid and volunteer staffing. We share a strong belief in our department that the best way to fight a fire is to prevent it from ever happening. Through a commitment to excellence, the Roanoke Fire Department emphasizes a strong fire prevention program that better ensures the safety of the public.
Staffing & Services
Our shift personnel work 48 hours on duty and 96 hours off duty. Each shift is staffed with one captain, one driver/engineer, and six firefighters. Our department also provides emergency medical services (EMS) to the city and additional areas we serve.
Additional Service Areas
In addition to providing fire and EMS protection to the citizens of Roanoke, the Roanoke Fire Department also provides services to portions of neighboring communities, including the southern portion of the Town of Northlake, portions of southern Denton County, and northern Tarrant County.
Roanoke is also part of the Northeast Fire Department Association (NEFDA) and provides mutual aid, Hazardous Materials Response, and bariatric ambulance services for the association.
