Legislative Policy Committee

The City of Roanoke City Council passed Resolution No. 2024-110R on November 12, 2024, establishing the Roanoke Legislative Policy Committee. The Committee shall serve in a temporary advisory capacity to the City Council of the City of Roanoke. The purpose of the committee is to review and make recommendations to the City Council on the City's legislative agenda prior to each legislative session.

Purpose & Overview
The Committee members play an integral role in evaluating and researching policies and issues that have a direct impact on municipal government in general or specifically on Roanoke. They will also be visible in lobbying efforts on behalf of the city throughout legislation. 

The next Texas Legislative Session (89th) is scheduled to meet from January 14, 2025 to June 2, 2025. The Legislative branch is composed of the Texas Senate and the Texas House of Representatives.
